Storytime

Once when I was a kid, my dad borrowed a CD-ROM from a coworker. It was 40 Games from Expert Software, which came with brand new games aside from the good and old native Win98 ones. That was a really joyful time of my life and I had fun with most of them, but one stood out: Bulldozer (the one on the bottom), who sparkled my interest for puzzle games.

Vintage 40 Games for Windows (1999) - image 3 of 4

Bitdozer is my tiny love letter for this game who, in turn, is inspired in the classic Sokoban. The main objective is to place the rocks into the targets. They can be placed in any order, but take care to not stuck them or being stuck yourself.

However, more than a tribute, Bitdozer is also a personal challenge. It's the first entry of my project entitled CG9300 System. In short words, it is a retro-inspired "pseudo-console" following a set of constraints, such as limited colors, resolution and memory consumption. The exact limits are yet to be defined, but this game is already an overview of what is coming next.

How to Play

Bitdozer is available on Browser, but you can also download an executable for Windows. Play wherever you feel comfortable 😀

Main Menu

  • New Game: Starts a new game from Level 1. This game autosaves when you finish a level. Starting a new game clears the save data.
  • Continue: Starts the game from the last level you played. If save data is not found or corrupted, it will begin from Level 1.
  • Exit: Closes the game.

Controls

  • Use the arrow keys to guide the Bitdozer vertically and horizontally
  • Use the [Z] key to choose an option on the menu and reset the level if you get locked
  • Alternatively, if you are playing on Windows, you can use the D-Pad and the [A/B/⚪] button on your joystick to guide and navigate respectively.

How to Donate

Bitdozer is FREE. However, if you want to contribute and help me to build more levels and games, you can make a symbolic $1.99 donation (or how much touches your heart) ❤

In addition, if you are Brazilian, you can send me a PIX via this QR Code:
